I was under the impression the Merlin was just a short-range fighter type and not standalone.

How "open" is the game right now? I guess it's available in alpha/beta now?

I need to go sell some blood or something so I have an extra 40 bucks to put towards the funding of this so I can play with everyone

Seems the Constellation https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/fvuwqq1t17wzkr/source/RSIConstellationMK3BrochureV2.pdf have a small hangar where the P-52 Merlin which is a small dogfighter can fit and comes with the constellation, is also considered part of the ship and as such covered by the pledge insurance. Haven't figured out how turrents works atm but you will be able to hire NPC's to man them and the Merlin it seems.

I can always use a co-pilot or dogfighter for the Merlin :D

The Idris-P Corvette sounds awesome (larger hangar that can store up to 3 ships) but at $5,000, is a bit too expensive for me. I was thinking about a Constellation as well but would want to check out the game more before pledging that much.

seems that people with multiple packages can turn the extra characters into NPC's for crewmen and they can be gifted away, so if you have an extra toon plz consider us lonely connie pilots :(
 
Been meaning to apply to LoMS in Star Citizen for a while, thanks to Vervie reminding about the organisation in SC during LoMS chat :)
 
Interesting this game reminds me of another game that was being developed with a persistent world with real time rendering graphic engine. "Infinity - the quest for earth".
At least this one seems further along than the other one.
 
Well, Jaberwok got some 315P love going on too, and I've applied for a position at L.O.M.S. Corp.

I must say that I'm hoping the interface improves some between now and launch -- at the very least, I hope they decouple the mouse from the camera!
