Ehm, I'm confused. I thought I bought a subscription to participate in an ARG. I didn't realize this is was a crowdfunding project. Especially not one where you lose 2.5% of your pledge should it fail. Maybe I should start reading more carefully.
Trying desperately to put a good spin on this, at least the guys at Paypal are making a lot of money, kudos to them.

For those who are interested, The Black Watchmen is now available on Steam. I think I will give it a chance, never heard about it until last week but it immediately caught my interest.
Seems to be quite a bit more expensive now than when they tried to get the game running through Crowdfunding the last time. Also, if I am not mistaken, there is no special discount for TSW Grandmaster Package owners this time, is there...?
Have you tested it yet? Would you say it is worth it?
Oh, nvm, they did another crowdfunding attempt on Kickstarter after the first one had failed. Totally missed that one...
A couple things to note after reading reviews:
- The game will be subscription based and the initial fee is good for "season 1" or about 3 months (~20 missions).
- Some people found the game disruptive after they gave contact info. You will get phone calls at odd hours or be sent packages. This adds to the level of immersion but may not be for everyone. Someone mentioned a friend that had been "basically traumatized by this experience." The internet is infamous for its hyperbole but still something to consider.

No, I haven't even bought it yet as I wanted to gather some more information about it. And additionally I guess I will spend more time with the upcoming anniversary event, so maybe I still will wait a bit
But the majority of the reviews is positive.I can confirm your first point. The part with the phone calls and packages (or even actors that will "visit" you
) depends on the immersion level which you are free to choose. There are four different levels of immersion: Red, orange, yellow and green. Red only requires a valid mail address, orange additionally a phone number, yellow also your address and for green you have to apply for and you need a medical exam and a talk with the developers. The Homepage explains the different stages. BTW, the developers claim that everyone - regardless of the immersion level - can participate in every mission.

It sure does.... I got myself to be yellow already, but I think I need to complete all training and recruiting missions first, before I can apply for green clearance leve. Unfortunately, I have to wait 8 hours before I can attempt to complete my current mission, since it is and infiltration mission and people are currently at work in the building. XD

I just completed the 5 new missions that came out last week. Boy, some of them took quite a while! 
It sure is a lot of fun, though. The RL aspect is also very cool. Letters with cursed money from the Hell Bank were sent to random agents...

I am in the middle of the 5 new missions. So far it is really great! Switched now to orange level and missed the first call yesterday evening because the battery of my phone was dead

Oooh, I am jealous about that! I am still waiting for my confirmation call... I even wrote to them and asked to double-check my data, but it was correct.
