ESO ESO

ok so after playing this weekend I can genuinely say that I think this game really has a ton of potential. I'm only willing to pay for 1 MMO at a time tho (thankfully TSW is free now and I'm a Grand Master lol) so that means ultimately I will have to choose between ESO and WoW with its new xpac coming.

Oh man I could use some feedback from you guys lol

Personally Wildstar just doesn't do it for me. If I want a cartoony light hearted MMO I will just play WoW lol. TSW fills my love for the occult and lovecraft, ESO seems like it could potentially fill my love for Elder Scrolls and good story
 
I played for 7 hours this weekend and I'm on the fence.

On one hand, with polish and bug fixing, it could be really great. The combat is like Skyrim (a plus for me) and you can't throw a rock without find news quests.

On the other hand, the animations are stiff and just not fun. Seriously, wailing on baddies with a warhammer should feel fun. It just doesn't, somehow. The UI is clearly designed for a console and managed to make me mad every five minutes.

I personally like a cartoony feeling when it's well done. I find WS one great, but what I really like about it it's the overall mechanics. The more I see stuff about that the more I like it.

Well, animations are usually improved along the last phases of production (remember tsw first month animations? there was no "oomph" and it got much better.
Now the fact about it being made to be designed for console, that may be a bad thing along the way.
 
if its anything like the other TES games i would login for 10 mins then delete it from my system :P
 
What made me the most angry was that every NPC spoke to me like they were Siri. That is sloppy programing to say the least. If you are going to charge me per month you damn sure better have voice actors.

I agree, this is supposed to be on a console. The UI is horrible and it was so bland feeling. I was so bored I played Skyrim instead.
 
Voice acting and animations will improve with time. Spoken dialogue and written text didn't even match. Clearly it is still in flux.

But the UI...arg.
 
Yeah after this weekend I'm torn. I want to like ESO, I'm sort of confused on the direction they want to take the game in. Their idea for endgame from what I have heard parallels the Lairs that you see in TSW. Not a bad thing but they haven't been really clear on it as of yet,
 
Well, I am a fan of TES series since Arena, and I am aiming to play the game. However it won't be at release, experience tells me that is better to wait 6 / 9 months after releases :D. But for sure I am gonna play and right now I am not paaying any subscriptions (Lifetimer & Founder at Lotro and free player at TSW) :D
 
Well i played tilll the very end at midnight the UI yes was a pain and the bugs Beecher an I was having was frustrating and the voice acting eh but this is BETA hence why you send a bug report for everything beecher put in a few when we were grouped up and i did after she left. All in all i wouldnt pay a subcribtion for this im a cheap ole man if this was FTP then i would DL and put around with it like i am doing in AION AoC and such.
 
Ok, a day after beta I have come to the conclusion that while I enjoyed ESO and want to play it, I am going to hold off until the game goes B2P or F2P (they all seem to these days). In the meantime I am going to thoroughly enjoy my GM TSW status :)
 
Just did the survey hopefully i can get in the next beta with better ui voice over and not trying to find beecehr under the ground. :confused:

Lots of ppl hated animations in TSW too.. not sure why tbh...
UI crap.. see SW:ToR 1 of many reasons i quit... but it's been improved since

Not gonna happen... they are building this with sub only in mind...
